Lenovo is a leading smart phones manufacturing venture. It has been a great success since the introduction of its Vibe series of smart phones. Also, Lenovo has partnered with Motorola for the past couple of years or so. Until then, Lenovo smart phones were marketed under the name LePhone in China and IdeaPhone in other countries. For the past six months Motorola Mobility has been fully involved in rebranding most of these phones with the Motorola brand name. In this review we are going to discuss about the Lenovo Vibe S1. It falls under the mid range smart phone category and has good features which are pretty reasonable for the price. The most recent of updates around stating the possible release of a Lenovo phone powered by a Windows OS. Lenovo’s use of MediaTek chipset sets it apart and has proven entirely in its favour. As of now it has produced 4 smart phones with this chipset and has seen tremendous acceptance amongst its customers. So, let us now dwell in depth in Lenovo Vibe S1’s features.

Lenovo Vibe S1 was released in November 2015, two months from the announced date in India. And during its launch it was priced at INR 15,999/-.
DESIGN & DIMENSIONS:
The best part about this smart phone is its metal exterior with the right amount of matte finish embedded in the casing. It looks really classy in comparison to other phones under the 20k price range slot. Also, a distinct design feature is its curved rear with a good elegant look. It has a thickness of 7.8 mm at the centre and gradually slims down towards its edges. It comes with a length of 143.3 mm and a breadth of 70.8 mm. It weighs an average of 132 g and pretty handy. It comes in two colour variations Pearl White and Midnight Blue.
Lenovo Vibe S1 comes with a good IPS Capacitive display with 16 M colours. The display is full HD sized at 5 inches. This is a comfortable size and hence is quite easy to travel with. It comes with a screen resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels. The display also has pixel density of 441 ppi. The protection to the screen is provided via Corning Gorilla Glass 3. This gives a fair degree of protection from normal degree of scratches. But it is advisable to use a scratch guard for fuller safety.
OS & PROCESSOR:
This smart phone comes with an Android v5.0 (Lollipop) OS. The processor used is an Octa – core processor. It has a Cortex A53 processor performing at a speed of 1.7 GHz. The technical name of the CPU chip is MediaTek MT6752. The graphic interface is taken care by the Mali – T760 MP2 GPU.
It comes with a fairly sufficient internal memory capacity of 32GB. This is more than enough for any normal user. But catering to the needs of heavy users too this phone comes with facility to expand the memory externally up to 128 GB with a microSD card. The RAM capacity is 3GB. This is hence a pretty decent phone even for heavy gamers.
Lenovo Vibe S1 comes with a non – removable Li – Po battery of 2500mAh capacity. It promises an average talk time of 26 hrs or 12 hrs while on 2G or 3G mode respectively. On the other hand it gives a standby time of 264 hrs or 288 hrs respectively for 2G and 3G modes. Considering the other features of this smart phone, battery features seem to be below average.
Camera: It has both, back and front camera. The back camera is of 13 MP specification, while there are dual front cameras of 8 MP and 2MP clarity. The back camera clicks photos with resolution of 4128 x 3096 pixels. The other highlighting features are Auto focus, LED Flash, HDR and Face detection. There are two secondary cameras backed by the BSI sensor.
Audio: The audio quality is pretty decent. The music player comes with good quality features. The various formats supported are MP3, WAV and FLAC. The FM radio feature too is fully functional in this smart phone.
Video: This smart phone can record videos with 1920 x 1080p resolution. It captures videos at 30fps. Also the supportive formats compatible with this phone are 3GPP, AVI, MPEG4, WMV and Xvid.
This smart phone has the dual sim facility. Both the sims are of the nano sim type and have GSM connectivity. Both the sims are fully compatible in both 3G and 4G modes. They work with 4G LTE and 4G in India(band 40). The wireless connectivity features that are available with this smart phone are Wi-Fi and Bluetooth version 4.0.
Score: The Lenovo Vibe S1 has achieved a feature score of 87 on Pricejugaad. Being on the higher end this surely is a recommended smart phone for purchase.
Features: The advantages are its amazing build and display along with efficient camera performance. The drawbacks though are its mediocre battery life and very average OS.
